I used to buy Gevalia's Costa Rica Peaberry coffee back in the 1990s and 2000's because it was to me the best tasting coffee in the world, so smooth and perfect. But they discontinued carrying it in 2011, I believe. Every time I served this coffee to my guests they would always ask what coffee it was and compliment how great it tasted. I really missed that coffee and recently I looked to see if other brand carried it and found Volcanica carried this bean and seeing the high ratings, I decided to order it. After I brewed a cup in my French press and tasted it, I was disappointed. It was good but not extraordinary like Gevalia's. I had 4 guests over last night to see what they would say and none of them said anything about this coffee! And when I asked them, they said it was just okay.

I know my way around coffee, as I worked in a coffee industry and had a very knowledgeable manager. I haven`t had a chance to try the Dominican coffee before, but I love natural and honey coffees. This one has a distinctive stone fruit note, along with the winey flavour. It`s the second coffee I got from Volcanica, and it`s as great as the first one. I like that they have great selection of coffee from different regions and with different processes, for convenient price. Totally recommend.
